Benefactor Travel is the cultural division of Hamilton Fitzjames, founded in 1994 by Tom Hamilton and Athlyn Fitz­-James. 

Athlyn Fitz-James, an Art Historian with an M. Phil degree directs the company overseeing a highly talented staff fluent in English, French, Italian, Spanish, German and Dutch. 

We are the only cultural travel company to have offices on both sides of the Atlantic.

Our main European office researches and develops the itineraries and operates all programs.  Being close to the product ensures that we are always up-to-date on collections, exhibitions, performance schedules, emerging artists and the best hotels and restaurants to enhance your program.  

Our North American administrative office is connected by an 800-line in the Eastern Standard time zone and handles all mailings, traveler’s assistance, program registration, payment (by check, Visa or MasterCard) and insurance. We look after all the details so that you can continue doing your job of running the institution.

Our North American marketing office is located in the Boston area to facilitate client service.  If you would like to discuss a destination, receive a proposal or talk about an existing program, we will be there to help on the telephone or face-to-face.
