- Target the interests of a specific support group within your institution.
- Garner interest in a new acquisition or new area of collecting.
- Feature the talents of a curator.
- Highlight the interests of the director.
- Dovetail with an exhibition at your institution.
- Participate in the gala opening of your exhibition abroad.
- Attend an important exhibition in a foreign museum.
- Visit an art fair with your acquisitions committee.
