ABOUT TEFAF

The European Fine Art Fair (TEFAF) is the most influential art and antiques events in the world.  Over its 35-year history the fair has evolved from modest beginnings to become the leading event of the international art trade and takes pride of place in the calendars of all serious collectors. It is also constantly being modified and improved to strengthen its already pre-eminent position in the global market.

Although renowned as an Old Master paintings fair, TEFAF’s modern and contemporary art section has expanded immensely. The 2010 Fair included museum quality works from the 20th and 21st centuries from such galleries as Haunch of Venison, Landau Fine Art and Sperone Westwater.  Modern and contemporary art now accounts for 25% of the fair’s 227 galleries and this growth shows all signs of continuing in future years.

In 2011, 263 leading dealers from 17 countries will exhibit art and antiques worth over US$1 billion, selling paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, classical antiquities, illuminated manuscripts, jewelry, textiles, porcelain, glass, silver and other works of art. They will range from 3,000 year-old antiquities to contemporary works.
